Recovery decision

Project Rescue Assessment

Establish whether recovery is credible.

Understand why a troubled software or AI initiative is failing, what could change its trajectory and when stopping is the responsible decision.

What you receive

The result of this engagement.

  1. A root-cause assessment with evidence and unresolved questions.
  2. A recover, redirect or stop recommendation and explicit conditions.
  3. A recovery playbook or closure rationale, with accountable implementation actions.

When this helps

Recognize the situation.

  • An initiative is consuming budget without reliable progress or a believable release path.
  • Architecture, data, scope and delivery explanations conflict.
  • Sponsors need an independent technical basis for the next funding or supplier decision.

How the work unfolds

Evidence appropriate to the question.

01

Stabilize the decision context

Agree the immediate decision, constraints and evidence required from sponsors and delivery owners.

02

Find the underlying constraints

Separate architecture and data problems from scope, capability, dependency and delivery conditions.

03

Define the recovery conditions

Present the credible options, prerequisites, near-term actions and stop criteria.

Scope & responsibility

Agree the depth. Keep the boundaries clear.

Scope of the engagement

The engagement is an architecture-led assessment. Access to actual delivery evidence and candid participation from the relevant owners are important.

Appropriate reliance

Sparkling does not take over program management, supply a rescue engineering team or guarantee recovery. Delivery owners remain responsible for execution.

One accountable principal. The named architect directs the work and owns the integrated recommendation. Relevant specialists contribute where agreed. Client and partner teams implement and operate; clients retain final business and acceptance decisions.

The agreed engagement sets the coverage, deliverables, responsibilities, timing and fees. Changes to that scope are agreed explicitly.

Practical questions

Before engaging us.

Can this include a supplier-led initiative?

Yes. We agree access, engagement terms, interviews and responsibility boundaries with the appropriate parties.

Can you remain involved after the assessment?

Where useful, architecture design or governance with agreed responsibilities can be arranged. Neither is a required follow-on.

What is the decision you need to make?

Share the situation and the intended commitment. We will establish whether this scope fits.
